- Bluegill sunfish congregate in the shallow waters for spawning.
- Muskrats and mink will use the lagoon periodically.
- Blue heron will be looking for fresh trout for dinner.
- You will witness an occasional bald eagle hovering overhead.
- Deer are plentiful around the lake, especially at dawn and dusk.
- There are several raccoons in and around the lagoon area.
- We have seen coyote on the far side of the lake; it is doubtful they will wander into the area.
- The unique looking pine marten has been seen on the south side of the lagoon.
- Rainbow trout will be very active as new fly hatches occur, leaping 5 to 10 feet when they are on a feeding binge.
- We have seen as many as 66 wild turkeys in one flock - they will startle you on your evening walks, as they roost high up in the red pine trees and wander freely in/around the lodge area.
- A real treat is in store if an otter family descends on the lake during your stay. They will entertain you with their fun and frolic, for which they are handsomely paid in trout!
